Your consumer rights
Plain-English summary of the Australian Consumer Law guarantees that apply to every Workshop, regardless of the simple-refund window.
The simple-refund window
Inside the first 14 days, as long as you haven't watched more than 25% of a Workshop, you can request a refund with no questions asked. We process eligible refunds within 5-10 business days.
The Australian Consumer Law
Your Australian Consumer Law rights apply regardless of how long ago you bought or how much you’ve watched. The simple-refund window is on top of those rights, not instead of them.
Every Workshop sold on MingleIn comes with consumer guarantees that cannot be excluded. The Workshop must be:
- Of acceptable quality. Free from defects, safe, durable, and able to do all the things a Workshop of that kind is commonly used for.
- Matching its description. What you actually receive must reasonably match the Workshop's title, description, and any sample previews.
- Fit for purpose. If you told the Host or the platform what you wanted the Workshop for, it must be fit for that purpose.
Major failures
If a Workshop has a major failure, for example, the content is substantially different from how it was sold, or unsafe practices are taught, you can choose between a refund or a Workshop credit of equivalent value, regardless of the simple-refund window.
For minor failures, we’ll repair, replace, or refund within a reasonable time. “Reasonable” depends on the type of issue.
How to make a claim
- Open the Refund flow from the Workshop in your Library. We’ll detect whether you’re inside the simple-refund window and route you to the right path.
- Tell us what happened. The structured complaint form (Frame D in the refund flow) captures category, story, and outcome you’d like.
- We respond within 48 hours. For ACL claims, we may take longer if we need to investigate with the Host, we’ll keep you updated by email.
If you’d rather go elsewhere
You always have the right to raise an issue directly with your state or territory consumer protection office, or with the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission. Choosing to talk to us first doesn’t affect that right.
