A Watch Party takes about two minutes to set up. You don’t need any extra software, any subscription, or any upfront cost beyond the Workshop you wanted to buy anyway.

    Pick something on MingleIn that you actually want to do, a paint-along, a sourdough class, a brewing Workshop. You're the one who's most excited about it; that's how the night gets its energy.

    Schedule the party. Invite your people.

    From the Workshop page, schedule a Watch Party, pick a date and time, and add up to 10 friends by email or shareable link. Your friends get an invite that shows the Workshop, the time, who else is coming, and a button to buy their seat.

    On the night, everyone joins from their own home. You press play, the Workshop video starts at the same time for the whole group. You earn 5% on every seat your friends bought. Each friend gets 90 days of access to the Workshop, same as you did.

First time organising a Watch Party? Here’s exactly what it’ll look like, for you and for the friends you’ve invited.

    Friends get their reminder

    Two days before the party and again on the morning of, every invited friend gets an email with the Workshop title, the time, and a button that takes them straight to the party room.

    Everyone joins ten minutes early

    You and your friends each open the party room from your own laptops or tablets, in your own kitchens / studios / lounge rooms. There's a chat panel where you can say hi while you wait.

    You press play

    You're the organiser, so you control playback. When everyone's settled, you press play and the Workshop video starts at the same moment for the whole group.

  • 4
    Pause whenever you need to

    If someone needs a minute to catch up, find a missing ingredient, change a brush, you pause for them. The whole group waits together. It's the part that makes it feel like an event rather than a video call.

    You all make the thing

    Whatever the Workshop teaches, you each make in your own space, following along together. Chat as much or as little as you like. The Host is there in the video, leading you through every step.

    Boast what you made

    After the party, you all post a Boast, a photo of what you made, to MingleIn. Your friends' Boasts link back to your party. New buyers see what was made and want to do it themselves.

Common questions

Watch Parties, plainly answered.

Do my friends pay full price?
Yes, each invited friend buys the Workshop at full price, the same as you did. They each get 90 days of access to that Workshop in their own MingleIn library afterwards. As the organiser, you earn 5% on every invited seat as a thank-you for setting it up.
What if a friend already owns the Workshop?
They can join your party for free, they don't need to buy a second copy. (And as the organiser you don't earn commission on them either, since they were already a buyer.)
How big can a Watch Party be?
Right now it’s up to 10 invited friends, plus you, so 11 people at most. We may raise that for community leaders and teams in future, but 10 is the current cap. It’s deliberately small enough to feel like a real event rather than a webinar.
What if I can't make it on the night?
You're the organiser, which means you control playback, so the party can't run without you. If something comes up, reschedule before it starts and everyone gets the new time. If you cancel outright, every seat is refunded.
When do I earn the 5%?
At the moment your friend buys their seat. The 5% lands in your Earnings, which you can withdraw or spend on more Workshops.
Can I make money doing this?
Modestly. A full party of 10 friends on a $40 Workshop earns you about $18.18 (5% of each net seat × 10), roughly half your own net seat. Watch Parties are about the social experience first; the rewards are a thank-you, not a way to earn. If you want to seriously earn from MingleIn, the path is to become a Host and earn 50% on every Workshop sale.
Is it really private? Can a stranger join?
No, Watch Parties are invite-only. Your party only exists for the people you've added to the invite list. There's no public listing of parties anywhere on MingleIn.
What devices does it work on?
Any modern web browser on a laptop, desktop or tablet. You don't need to install anything. (A dedicated mobile experience is coming.)
Can a public Watch Party ever happen, where strangers can join?
Not today. Public Watch Parties may come later if our community wants them, but for now everything is invite-only so the experience stays small, intimate and trusted.
